Here we are again, anticipating the impending warmth of spring that still feels so far off, and yet…there comes a break from the wintery chill. The sudden change from cold hands to warm hearts. A change that only comes with valentines day preparations. Okay, that may be a little dramatic, but lets face it, at this time of year people are scrambling for just about anything that can make that special day warm and memorable. So, this year, why not exchange the mad dash for a last minute outfit for some preplanned options? If you’d rather a valentines day without a sudden outfit mishap, you’ve come to the right place. Today I’ll offer some valentines appropriate outfit ideas.

I went all out for the first outfit, perfect for the Valentines day aficionado who loves to dress for the day. Try pairing pale, almost dusty, shades of pink with red– in moderation of course. Don’t over do the reds, and pinks. Instead, try throwing in some cream and navy blue! For this outfit, since I was going for a very feminine look, nothing seemed more fitting than a few strands of faux pearls and a heart ring!

In styling the second outfit I went for a vintage-modern style outfit. Something that is a little bit easier to pull off if you aren’t the most overly enthusiastic about dressing up for valentines day, but still like to look the part. Instead of wearing a full dress, try pairing a vintage style skirt with a modern blouse, with a sweet belt, and some chic heels. For fun, I added some bold accessories, a dear pendant and some art deco style earrings, which bring out more of the vintage meets 2013 style!
